Austin Champ EHV 786D, 10502, 05 BF 02
2011, August. For sale in north Florida, USA for $40,000 (£24,370 at the time).|
|2010. Sold at auction by Duke's Auctions May 2010.|
2004. Sold at Bonhams Auction, Dec. 6 2004, sale no. 11245. I went to veiw the Champ and it would have been a good one to restore. There was rust in the lower cills and when tapped rust fell out in a line on the floor and there was some rust on the structure around the over-axle cover.|
This chassis no. would have been built as an FFW (Fitted For Wireless) but now has a non-FFW generator panel - many Champs have been converted from the two-speed FFW generator to a single-speed. There was considerable radio kit with the vehicle (see second photo) but the radios would not be used as the army would have used them so the charging (and extra batteries for an FFW) would not be important.
Sold for £7,130
